Prostitution Arrest

May 24, 2001

The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Department recently received intelligence information that prostitutes were operating out of a residence located at 3017 South Dixie Highway. An investigation was initiated and a surveillance of the residence was conducted. During the surveillance a large number of vehicles were observed visiting the residence.

On May 23, 2001 at approximately 9:30p.m. a Sheriff’s Department Undercover Officer was sent into the residence. Upon entering the residence the undercover officer was charged thirty dollars by a male subject (Camacho) and given a choice of having sex with one of the two girls working at the residence. After the money exchanged hands surveillance teams attempted to make entry to locked front and back doors. While officers were making forced entry, a male and female in the residence jumped through two separate glass windows on the side of the residence to escape. The female was located hiding in a field a short distance from the residence. She had sustained lacerations and injuries from jumping through the glass. Whitfield EMS transported her to Hamilton Medical Center for treatment. As of this time officers have been unable to locate the male suspect (Camacho) that fled the scene.

Maria E. Direnzo age 31, and Argentina Dela Cruz age 39, (both of 3017 South Dixie Highway) have been charged with Prostitution. A “customer” in the residence has been identified as Carlos M. Lizcano, age 18, of Waugh Street, Dalton. Lizcano was charged with one count of Pandering. Warrants have been issued charging Geronimo Chavez Camacho, age 39 (of 3017 South Dixie Highway) with Pimping and Keeping a Place of Prostitution. Investigation to continue.
