Communications Section
The Communications Section serves as the link between the people needing service and those charged with providing the service. Calls for service are routed to the Communications Officers either through 911 or through direct dial access to the Sheriff's Office. Personnel assigned to this section have one of the most important and stressful jobs within the agency. They are responsible for keeping track of each Patrol Squad members activity, answering the telephones and working the radio and computer systems. They must be capable of dividing their attention amoung numerous tasks at the same time. This attention division often lasts for hours on a busy tour of duty. Absolute dedication is a must for assignment to this section of the agency. Very few people are capable of handling the load. |
