The average squad numbers 8 to include the supervisors. Deputies assigned to these squads work 12 hour shifts in a seven days on seven days off rotation. Personnel assigned to these squads serve as the agencies "first responders" to calls for service. On arrival at a call for service the responding Deputy assess the situation and takes appropriate action to resolve the issue. This action comes in many forms. In special situations the responding officer may request the assistance of additional personnel or equipment appropriate to the event.
