Methamphetamine Arrest August 6, 2001 The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Department concluded a two month investigation Sunday with the arrest of five individuals. The joint investigation targeted a group of individuals that is believed to be responsible for distributing pounds of methamphetamine in our area on a weekly basis. The group was identified as working out of an apartment complex on West Broadacre Road. Some undercover purchases were made from the group during the investigation. On Sunday (8-6-01) investigators received information that the group had received a new “shipment.”
On
Sunday at approximately 9:00p.m. Investigators executed search warrants on
apartment numbers 22 and 23, at 271 W. Broadacre Road. Investigators seized a
large quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine. Also seized were scales, around
$4,000 in currency, a vehicle and several firearms, including an assault rifle.
Approximately nine pounds of methamphetamine and ½ pound of cocaine with a
street value of around $ 500,000 were seized in the investigation. The individuals arrested have been identified as; Hever Ramirez, DOB 5-23-77, Arturo Diaz Cervantes, DOB 10-16-80, Don Cleotilde, DOB 12-3-74, Maria Reyna Pacheco, DOB 7-8-80, and a 16 year old juvenile, all of 271 West Broadacre. The juvenile is being detained at the Youth Detention Center. The adults are being detained at the Correctional Center. All five suspects are being detained on various counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and/or Cocaine. Two small children (an infant and a three year old) at the apartments were turned over to the Department of Family and Children Services. Some of the methamphetamine was found in a diaper bag and a firearm along with a loaded magazine clip was found in a baby stroller.
